Yearly Plan Semester 1
As we begin a new school year, we are eager and excited to have your student in our physical education program here at FLEC! Physical education is the cornerstone of an active lifestyle for all students. Physical Education will provide the skills, knowledge and attitudes that facilitate choosing physical activity at home, at school and in the community. As certified physical education teachers, we pledge to:
-Establish a positive, safe learning environment for all students
-Teach a variety of physical activities that make PE class FUN
-Create many opportunities for students of all abilities to be successful
-Promote student honesty, integrity, and good sportsmanship
-Guide students into becoming skillful and confident movers
-Facilitate the development and maintenance of physical fitness
-Assist students in setting and achieving personal fitness goals
-Provide specific, constructive feedback to help students’ master motor skills
-Prepare and encourage students to gain skills and be active for a lifetime
-Teach students about the connections between spirituality and health
Our ultimate mission is to educate your child about the importance of exercise and motivate them to participate in a lifetime of physical activity by exploring all avenues of health awareness and wellness. We hope to provide each child with plenty of opportunities to succeed.
Dress Code: Participation is expected out of every student every P.E. class. For all students who are in grades 5-8, you must have a PE shirt. Shirts can be purchased at the front office (Vicki Emde) or on the uniform web site. Parents please help your child remember their PE schedule and to dress accordingly. All students must wear closed toe shoes during all P.E. classes activities this is required for your child’s safety and success. A large percent of your student’s grade comes from them being dressed out for class.
Health Problems: If your child needs to be restricted from participating in any physical activity, they must provide us with a written note from you or your child’s physician in order to be excused.
Thank You: We are looking forward to working with your child and keeping them safe while they are active in our PE classes. We appreciate all your help, support and cooperation: and please fell free to email us at any time with your questions or concerns.
Healthfully Yours,
Coach McCoy & Coach Liepke & Coach Marlier
