Forest Lake Education Center offers a variety of elective classes that suits students’ diverse abilities and interests. Students in 6th – 8th grade may take 2 elective classes, but are required to take at least one.

Art is for beginner art students and Advanced Art is for students who have previously taken Art as a FLEC elective or have an art background. Additional supply fee will be determined.
Band is offered to students who have participated in Advanced Band in the past or meet with the Band Director for approval.
Orchestra is offered to students who have participated in Orchestra in the past or meet with Mr. Everts for approval. May not be able to take additional First Period elective.
Peer Tutoring is by invitation unless you have served as a tutor. You may select that you are interested, but please make at least one other selection.
Robotics Academy is a STEM+C (science, technology, engineering, mathematics and computer science) initiative for students in grades 6-8. Topics covered will include: the engineering design process, software development process, project management, ideation, robot math, vehicle dynamics, vehicle mechanics, computer programming, CAD, 3D printing, product development cycle, public speaking and technical writing. This class is by application and has limited slots available.
This is a introduction to Spanish class that is designed to prepare the student for high school level Spanish. It is designed to foster communication, creativity, and confidence in Spanish learning. This class does not replace high school level Spanish.
Drama class will teach a variety of skills that are crucial for communication in today’s society. Emphasis will be on the following but not limited to: stage acting, camera acting, film and video editing, equipment care and development, script writing and editing. We will study all of these and more but with a big-picture focus of allowing Christ into all of our productions. An application will be required for this group due to limited space.
